The PER Regional Center for Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe organizes on September 21st through 25th 2008 a documentation visit for the journalists in the communities of national minorities from Banat.
During this trip, the journalists shall have the opportunity to visit various ethnic communities from the counties of Timis and Arad in Romania, respectively the counties of Bekes and Csongrad in Hungary and meet with experts in minority issues, representatives of the local authorities and national minorities in this area, as well as journalists from the local media.
The event is part of a series of meetings and trainings organized by the PER Regional Center for Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe under the name of “Strengthening inter-ethnic tolerance in and by the media”. 22 media representatives from Bucharest and throughout the country shall take part in the event.
The documentation trip includes visits to Timisoara – Sinnicolau Mare (the Hungarian, community, the German community, the visit to Bela Bartók Museum), Cenad, Dudestii Vechi (Bulgarian community), a meeting in Timisoara – the Serbian community. A meeting with the German community from Timisoara, a visit to Timisoara – Vinga (visit of the Bulgarian Cathedral), Radna Monastery (German and Hungarian community), Nadlac (Slovakian community) shall take place on Tuesday, the 23rd of September.
On the next day, the group will go to Gyula for a meeting with officials and representatives of the Romanian community, at the Country Self-governing of the Romanians from Hungary. (DIVERS - www.divers.ro)
