MEP Tokes Laszlo declared Thursday, June 4 in Cluj, that Hungarians have the right that in Transylvania their mother tongue to become official language and it would be a proof of dignity for Romanians to learn Hungarian if they live in big Hungarian communities, NewsIn transmits.

“We have the right in Transylvania, that the Hungarian language should become official and if we have the obligation and are ready to learn Romanian, in the same way, in regions where Hungarians live in majority it would be a proof of dignity if Romanians would learn Hungarian,” Tokes stated in a press conference in Cluj.

Bishop Tokes made these declarations starting from the issue of the mayor's office intention of placing informative signs on historical monuments which don't contain explanations in Hungarian as well. (DIVERS – www.divers.ro)
